BINGO-ATTENTION PARENTS

Due to a family emergency Charlene Lewis is out of town until the end of the week.  You can still e-mail her or leave her a message, but she will not get back to you until next week.  We are still in need of Bingo workers for October 8th, so if you can help out please let her know.  Thank you for her understanding.

Extreme Writing

The grade 6 class has created their own, personalized Extreme Writing book.  They are using it to work on writing fluency.  Our class goal is to be able to write 120 words in 10 minutes.

If we can achieve that goal by the end of September, we'll push the limits for October's Extreme Writing challenge!

*Students are to make sure that they complete the first entry, making sure they have 120 words.  (Many students did finish this in class.)

-New entries will be written tomorrow so it's important that the first is finished!

Math

Most people did not complete the Math homework that was assigned over the weekend:(  Please make sure it is completed for tomorrow's class.

Social Presentations

Great work on the Social Studies presentations today!  Make sure to fill your parents in on all the awesome stuff you learned about:)

Entertainment Books

Thank you to everyone who have purchased Entertainment Books!

We are half way through our sale and so far we have sold 37 books, if we can make the 100 book goal we will earn $2000 for our new playground!

This book will pay for itself with the use of a couple coupons and you will provide our kids with a spectacular playground for years to come.  Please consider purchasing the book to maximize our profit.  Books are still available at the office for purchase.

BINGO Notice-Please read

Hi everyone and welcome back! I'd like to especially welcome anyone that is new to E.C.P.S, you've chosen an amazing school for your children!
It's time to gear up for another year of bingos! I, along with our Parent Association, appreciate the 4 hours of work it takes to fill a bingo obligation which brings in roughly $1000.00 per bingo. That money goes towards field trips, busing for those trips and is helping build a new playground in the near future.
At our last P.A. meeting, there was many of us trying to come up with incentives for parents to work these bingos so we can continue receiving these major funds. Ideas brought up since last year are:

*Receive a $5 off coupon that can be used towards hot lunch.
*Have the parents that don't work the bingos pay for their child's field trips etc
*Drop the bingos and have everyone pay for field trips, busing etc.

We would appreciate any feedback on this matter. Feel free to call or email me if you have any ideas or would like to give your input, it would be extremely helpful as it's getting more and more difficult to find volunteers.

Our bingo dates for the rest of the year are as follows:

October 8 - Evening
November 29 - Evening
December 15 - Evening

Please call or email me if you can help with any of these bingos.

I would like to take this time to thank everyone for their support for my family over the last month since a fire destroyed our house. Your help has made it much easier to move on after such a devastating loss. Whether it be items that were dropped off at various locations, monetary or emotional support, I can't describe how much it was appreciated.

Again, thank you so much!
